Chagas disease is under recognized in the United States. It is caused by a parasite called Trypanosoma cruzi that is endemic in many parts of Latin America and, to a lesser extent, the southern US. The US Chagas Network (USCN) was established in January 2020 to provide educational resources about Chagas disease to US medical providers and guide them as they evaluate, diagnose, and manage their patients. We hope that the USCN will serve as a resource and community for all US Chagas providers, from students to experienced clinicians, public health officials, and researchers.
